The science that deals with the sense of touch in human interaction with technology Haptics (derived from the Greek 'haptein' meaning 'to fasten.') is the science of sensation and control in human interaction with computer applications. In combination with virtual reality, haptics technology is used to train people for tasks requiring hand-eye coordination or provide humans with a virtual experience where realities are blurred and distorted. Could humans become too reliant on technology leaving them in a permanent state of devolution? In the dark and disturbing metaphorical film 'Haptics', machines are efficient and in control, humans are slothful and devolved and realities are virtual and blurred.
